First stop on our drive to Sweden was Alsace. We wanted to have one final night in Alsace. Arrived at our hotel for the night, Domaine du Moulin in Ensisheim, the same hotel we stayed at 3 years ago and when I was pregnant with Dixie. First a dip in the pool and the sauna, before dinner an in-room apero.
Dixie and I at the restaurant. Dixie was behaving like the good little girl she is. She sat and played with her little toys, drew pictures and chatted. She has so much to talk about, half the time we don't know what she is talking about.
This is the reason why I wanted to come back to this hotel. Last time, since I was pregnant, I wasn't allowed to eat fois gras. Both Anders and I had the triology of fois gras. Just as good as last time according to Anders, it was simply heavenly.
After the starter and the main course, which consisted of a tournedos with morel mushrooms (Dixie ate a third of my tournedo) Dixie started to get tired. But no whining and no crying, just very cuddly. Here she is showing me how to hold the tag on Dino. What would we do without Dino, Dixie's one and only cuddle toy.
I knew this hotel was a good choice for our drive home. The starter, the main course and last but not least the dessert. I had the privelege to enjoy this beauty of a dessert. A trio of chocolate After Eight. A chocolate macaroon with creme du menthe, a mint sorbet and a chocolate and mint layered little cake. I can easily say that this is the best dinner I've ever had. True perfection!
Dixie and Papi enjoying the chocolate lava cake.
And then there was time to get a good night sleep and a day of shopping in Colmar and time to board the train. Dixie was excited to sleep on the train and best of all to get to play with all her toys in the bed while we arrived in Hamburg.
Waiting to drive off the Autozug. Which by the way was the best way to travel through Germany. Once we got off we drove all the way to Skåne where Mimi was waiting for us.
Dixie was so excited to see Mimi and to arrive at her beautiful and cozy cottage. Presents laid out on the princess bed. Mimi, the best Mimi anyone could have. So far the trip has been really smooth, it doesn't feel as we are moving and leaving Switzerland, it feels more like we are on a vacation... Hey, life is a vacation!
