Good morning Rolle! A fun weekend with friends in Rolle. Arrived late Friday night, a well chilled prosecco and a yummy quiche waited for us. Dixie was in a good mood and hung out until it was after midnight and time to go to bed... Dixie didn't want to go to bed, she wanted to see her buddy Alexander and to explain that she had to wait until the morning, that didn't fly. The morning came and Dixie was over the moon to see Alexander. Before we headed out on our excursion to the "Watch valley" we fit in some Elefun. An elefant that blew out butterfly to catch, a huge hit!
A snowy and beautiful drive in the Jura mountain range, through Vallee de Joux "the watch valley" where many of the exclusive watch factories are located. We stopped at a a cute restaurant at the Hotel de la Truite in the little village of Du Pont. Amazing food and wonderful service. Dixie and Alexander was drawing and playing while waiting for a kids gourmet lunch.
Trout. So fresh and so good.
Mousse au chocolat. Our first dessert of the day.
A love the view driving back down the mountains towards Rolle when you have the view of the vineyards and Lake Geneva.
A little computer time while Crissy and I went shopping for dinner.
Prosecco, cheese and smoked sausage from a small village in the Jura mountains while enjoying the beautiful view from the living room.
When the kids were sound a sleep, we enjoyed a taco dinner with homemade taco seasoning.
For dessert, something very Swedish with a very Swiss name; Marängswiss.
After a good night's sleep, we made a lovely brunch with American pancakes and omelettes. Dixie munching on pancakes. Little Miss D, she has always something to say...
Sunshine. We love it. A little play on the playground before it was time to head back home to Zurich. It's will be easy to start the week when you had such a great weekend. Lots of laughter, good food and play.
