The first kiss

Dixie, the princess, welcomes our friends Alexander with parents who came to visit for the weekend.

Since Crissy always makes such a wonderful and delics Greek feast when we visit them I thought I would make something that they have never tasted before, something very Swedish, a sandwich cake. Filled with all the yummy things that you would never think of putting together but in a cake like this, it's delics. Champagne with the cake.

Dixie and Alexander had their own sandwich cake without seafood. When can kids start eating shellfish?

 Dixie enjoyed her special sandwich cake, Alexander passed on the Swedish food. 

 Despite the ugly weather, we went for a walk. Dixie loves the water puddles.

 Once back home the kiddies munched on blueberries. 

 Dixie had fun feeding Florian blueberries. 

Could the evening for these little ones end in a better way? A kiss, the first kiss, just before bedtime. Alexander even closed his eyes. Aaaahhhh, so cute!

A very Swedish lunch, for dinner we cooked a more contemporary modern Swedish cuisine. My signature dish. Seared scallops with a spicy mango salsa. For main course, we served a file of pork marinated overnight in red wine and garlic, served with hedgehog potatos and a cognac-green peppar sauce. Dessert; home made ice cream with a dark chocolate fudge topping. I think it was the best batch of ice cream I've ever made.

Since it's a bit of a drive, they stayed over night. It's so nice to have visitors, especially when you get to enjoy a nice breakfast together. Fresh baked bread from the bakery, bacon and scrambled eggs. Dixie munched on Papi's bacon and scrambled eggs. Yum! A great weekend, fun talks and fun times. What we will remember most is the kiss. Our little cuties! Thanks for coming to visit us in our new pad! Miss you already, Crissy, Florian and Alexander!

Our visitors left shortly after breakfast. Ugly weather so the day was spent inside chilling and playing. I love hanging out in Dixie's room. Dixie says "Hi!" from her favorite bouncy cow!
