Bike ride around Greifensee

Woke up to yet another beautiful day. Lovely. Already in the morning it was nice and warm outside. Worked in the garden, played with Dixie, blew soap bubbles, pulled Dixie on her Bobby car and played in the sandbox. It was around 20 degrees so we thought, how perfect for our first bike ride for the year. A bike ride around Griefensee with a lunch picnic and maybe a stop for ice cream. It started out lovely, there is a great bike path all around Greifensee, lots of people rollerblading and walking. Dixie fell asleep in the burly so we thought we would bike until she woke up and then stop for a nice picnic in the sun. We never stopped. Half way around the lake the sunny weather turned in to a horrible storm. Anders and I were both dressed in light clothing, luckily I could wrap Dixie in the blanket so she would stay warm. It literally dropped from 20 to 7-8 degrees in no time. The last 15 min Dixie was really bored and she cried all the way home. Poor baby. That was our first not so lovely bike ride with no picnic and no ice cream. Still, we got good exercise out of it, 26 km.

The little Gärtnerin

This is how I want all of spring and summer to be. Complete open door out to the terrace. All of last week has been lovely weather, today Saturday as well. I love when spring brings you sun and lots of it. We have had the doors open to the terrace all day, perfect for Dixie to go in and out, in and out and in and out...

...in and out testing her new Nike shows. She loves them, she points at the them, tries to put them on and these don't even blink or has glitter on them, she still loves them.

It was a bit cool in the morning so a hooded jacket and rain pants on while playing in the sandbox. A sandbox which turned in to be a very good investment, Dixie loves it. I love it too, until she decides to dig up sand and empty it outside the sandbox.

A warm afternoon. Hat on and drive. Dixie is digging her Bobby car.

This sunny day just called for some rose wine while planting flowers. It's a must on a warm day. Happy day, fabulous day and lovely day.

It's good to be back!

Oh, it's good to be back. After three days of some kind of stomach bug, it's nice to be back outside in the sun and on the way to krippe. I think Dixie missed her friends even though it was fun to be home with Papi. This little diva is so much fun and I'm so happy she is feeling better. My love.

Krank little baba

A krank little baba after her morning shower but I was still able to snap a cute shot of Papi and baba. Dixie has been stomach sick for the last couple of days. Anders has been home taking care of her for two days and tomorrow is my turn. She seemed better today but this evening all the food and formula came back up. Her adorable little belly is all flat, she doesn't want to eat much. Let's hope it's a healthier day tomorrow Friday, ready for the weekend.

My little Picasso

We have a Picasso in the family. Dixie. Yet another beautiful work of art from krippe. Very colorful and sculptural. Modern art. F.Y.I. Not for sale.

She's diggin' the sandbox

Sunday brunch at the local bakery around the corner from our house. Delics freshly baked bread, homemade jam and homemade birchermusli. Dixie having a great time with Momo and Mofa. Dixie has a new nickname for Momo, it's Mimi. So cute!

Dixie loved the homemade strawberry jam, she ate it with a spoon. Why waste it on bread?!

The plan was the Zoo for today but it started to rain so we skipped the Zoo. Hung out at home, watched one of Dixie's favorite: Mojje videos.

In the afternoon it cleared up and even the sun came out. Time to put together Dixie's new sandbox. Oh, how I love having a garden. It's perfect! Dixie is making sure Papi puts the sand it its right place.

Yes! Finally! Dixie is diggin' her new sandbox. I think we will spend many hours in the sandbox. She loved it!

Mofa is showing how to build a big pile of sand. Dixie is impressed!

Colmar, it's gourmet

Fashion chic and ready for a day in France. Dixie's first skirt ever and it's Dixie's day today. She is 16 months old today! Wiiii!

Arrived in a beautifl Colmar, sunny and blue skies. I love spring!

Fist stop, a very cute cafe. Macarons. Yum!

Dixie munched on Papi's chocolate cake.

The evidence. A little chocolate lover.

Stopped at the very delics sausage shop and bought a walnut sausage, a chevre sausage and a wild mushroom sausage.

For dinner tomorrow Sunday, we will enjoy a very well hung T-bone steak. Oh yum, I can't wait!

Lunch. Fois gras. Heavenly.

Fun with Momo before bedtime. It's been a long day, but fun. Dixie is a little trooper. She is so well behaved and fun to bring tag along. My babe!

Dinner at home. Chevre chaud and salad. For dessert, a stunning and scrumptious tarte au citron vert. A gourmet day!
